What is Small Business Saturday?

Small Business Saturday is an annual shopping event on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that encourages people to shop at small and independent businesses. On Amazon, it's a moment when deals from small and independent marketplace sellers are surfaced and highlighted, giving shoppers a chance to find handmade, home and gift items from smaller brands alongside the big-name markdowns.

How does Small Business Saturday fit into Thanksgiving weekend?

It sits right in the middle of the weekend — the day after Black Friday (November 27, 2026) and two days before Cyber Monday (November 30, 2026). That makes it part of one continuous sale stretch: Black Friday kicks off the big-brand markdowns, Small Business Saturday highlights independent sellers, and Cyber Monday closes the weekend with online-only tech and gaming deals.

How does Small Business Saturday compare to Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday lean heavily on big-brand tech, electronics and gaming markdowns, while Small Business Saturday genuinely emphasizes home, gift and handmade goods from small and independent sellers. The discounts are typically smaller in percentage terms than the big-brand flash deals, but the value is in discovering independent brands and unique gifts — and Amazon's return protection still applies, so trying a new small seller is genuinely low-risk.
